These works are from a series initially based on satellite views of Earth that began in 2006. The Monoprints are imagined spaces of the planet that we inhabit.
Natural materials, such as leaves, vines, tree bark, and soil were incorporated into the transfers to bring the landscape literally into the work, embedding their form into the surface of the paper through a process called debossing . The effect is intended to provide dimension to the paper and parallels the impact that humanity and nature impose on the land. More recently, in 2019, the Horizon line became a focus representing the concept of the shifting status of our ecosystem and its impermanent form.
